My guess is Dr lee, being an outsider to the Keppel culture, will initially have a tough time-until he gets his own team together. Just think of all those with an ax to grind who will wish to sabotage him. This happens in big organizations as surely as night follows day.

As a small shareholder, I fully support the move of Keppel Corp to appoint Dr Lee Boon Yang as Keppel Corp Chairman. His track record has been impressive and good and hard to beat. His connections are vital to big business concerns-that's what big international business is all about. He will bring value to the company and add value to the shares -even at such miserable times as universal economic down turn which we all experience now. So congrads Keppel and a warm welcome to Dr Lee.

Is there any country in the world where leaders of industry, corporations and government do not move seemlessly between these three sectors? There is unlikely to be a single company in the world that would not want a former government or political head honcho in its board. Of course, there may be companies that will deny this, but deep down political connectios are always good for business. Why do you think top businessen make it a priority to network with government leaders and politicians? Such inter-connections are have been the basis of all economic and political systems for millenia from communism to capitalism to democracy to socialism.
